Second Hand Goods

At “The Thrifty Duo,” we take pride in providing our customers with carefully restored vintage furniture.

We understand that although we make every effort to refurbish our second hand pieces to their original “best as possible state,” some signs of their vintage condition and age may still be visible.

We follow the regulations set out in the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA). However, please note that we do not cater to returns that fall outside of the reasons for return as set out in these policies.

We do not offer returns on second-hand goods as part of the general right of return.

We kindly emphasize that the images provided serve as an integral part of the item's description, and we strongly encourage customers to inspect items in person before making a purchase.

Moreover, we wish to clarify that once our products exit our store premises, we relinquish any responsibility for potential damages or issues.

It is important to understand that all our products are sold in their current condition, without any associated liability for any potential defects.

We want to make it clear that we do not provide any warranties or guarantees for any of our second hand products.

If you need to initiate a return, please contact us at info@thethriftyduo.co.za. If your return is accepted, we will process the refund payment via the payment gateway used for the order, or we can process an EFT payment into your account of choice. Please note that all refunds will attract a fee of 5% of the order amount.

To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition as when you received it, unused, and in its original packaging. You will also need to provide proof of purchase or a receipt. Shipping costs associated with returning the goods are the responsibility of the buyer.

Please note that we do not accept returns on sale items or vouchers.

All items purchased must be collected or delivered within seven days of purchase unless otherwise agreed between the parties.

If there is no communication, agreement on storage, or collection of goods within a four-week period, the goods will be re-listed for sale. If a refund is due after the successful sale, a deduction of 40% of the re-listed selling price (in addition to the initial 5% fee) will apply to cover administrative fees, packaging fees, bank fees, online fees, and storage space.

For The Thrifty Duo's Cesca Replica, we offer a 7-day return window. To be eligible for a return on the Cesca Replica, the item must be in the same condition as when you received it, unused, and in its original packaging.
