Introducing six sleek swivel carver dining chairs by DS Vorster, a renowned South African mid-century furniture maker celebrated for his innovative designs and exceptional craftsmanship. Each chair reflects Vorster's signature clean lines, elegant forms, and meticulous attention to detail, embodying the essence of mid-century modern style. These dining chairs were sourced through the legendary Retromod, connected to us by Nicholas from Cape Town, who sought to rehome his grandfather’s cherished pieces. Rich with history, these chairs have seen generations pass and tell stories with every curve and dimple. We completely stripped, sanded, and resealed them, ensuring the wood is nourished and protected. The upholstery has been redone in an elegant grey fabric, enhancing their timeless elegance.
The chairs, with backs allowing for a swivel motion, are perfect for leaning in to take a bite of a homemade meal or leaning back to enjoy the company of loved ones. They are a testament to craftsmanship and comfort, blending seamlessly with any dining table, especially those by DS Vorster.
This project supported many local small businesses through restoration and upholstery, contributing to our local economy and fostering small business growth.
